As some People already pointed out, it’s a better turntable than anything new you could get in that price range. It’s direct drive but doesn’t have a particularly powerful motor. I also use an at 3600 cartridge. As others have said, yes, it's good for the price/budget you have! Looks like it has a JVC Z-1S on it.
